Six More Vocational Schools Across Ukraine Receive Modern Agricultural Equipment Thanks to JICA Support

Agricultural education in Ukraine is undergoing rapid transformation — and these changes are already making an impact in the regions. Another six vocational institutions from various parts of the country have received state-of-the-art agricultural equipment as part of a partnership with the JICA. This marks the second wave of deliveries under an initiative that will equip a total of twelve schools.
Thanks to this effort, students in agricultural programs now have even more opportunities to gain hands-on experience using the same machinery found in real-life field conditions.
This round of support includes the following institutions:
- Katyuzhanskyi Vocational College (Kyiv region)
- Andriivskyi Vocational Lyceum (Mykolaiv region)
- Northern Center for Vocational Education (Chernihiv region)
- Kulykivskyi Agricultural Lyceum (Chernihiv region)
- Lebedyn Higher Vocational School of Forestry (Sumy region)
- Borodyanskyi Vocational Agricultural Lyceum (Kyiv region)
Equipment That Makes a Difference
Equipped with the latest tractors featuring GPS navigation, as well as seeders, plows, and other modern machinery, these schools are becoming real training grounds for the next generation of agri-professionals. This isn’t just about learning to operate machines — it’s about understanding precision farming, optimizing resource use, and gaining experience in real-world conditions.
Why It Matters
Vocational education in the regions gives young people the opportunity to build meaningful careers in their own communities, without needing to seek prospects only in big cities or abroad. Ukraine’s agricultural regions are the backbone of the economy — and they need skilled professionals who truly understand how modern farming works.
A Joint Effort
This isn’t JICA’s first contribution to Ukraine’s vocational education. Previously, equipment was delivered to schools in the Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Odesa, Dnipro, and Kharkiv regions. While technology is just one part of the equation, its presence in the learning process opens new horizons — for both students and educators alike.
