The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Cambridge Sign Agreement on English Language Cooperation

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Cambridge University Press & Assessment have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing English language learning across the country.
The document was signed by Oksen Lisovyi, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, and Francesca Woodward, Managing Director of English at Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
The agreement focuses on the comprehensive development of English teaching in Ukraine, the creation of new formats for teacher training and professional development, and the implementation of joint projects
During the meeting, it was formally agreed between the parties to resume Cambridge English digital exams in three Ukrainian cities — Uzhhorod, Chernivtsi, and Ivano-Frankivsk. These qualifications are recognized by over 25,000 organizations worldwide as official proof of English proficiency.
"English is the language of science, education, and international communication. Its development in Ukraine strengthens our country's position on the global stage. The partnership with Cambridge University Press & Assessment will enhance the quality of English teaching, updating teacher training approaches, and expanding opportunities for Ukrainian pupils and students. Proficiency in English provides access to leading educational programs, scientific research, and professional growth — all of which are especially important as Ukraine integrates into the global community," said Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Oksen Lisovyi.
Francesca Woodward at Cambridge University Press & Assessment said:
“We want to help strengthen Ukrainians’ connections with the wider world. This initiative will create new opportunities for Ukrainians. We know that developing real-life English language skills can dramatically improve people’s prospects and this new partnership will focus on developing English language education across the country. We will work with Ukraine’s Ministry of Education and Science to explore new ways of delivering teacher training and professional development, tailored to the needs and goals of Ukrainian educators and students.”
