Liliya Hrynevych, Minister of Education and Science, meets with representatives of the RPR community platform

Liliya Hrynevych, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, met on 24 May 2016 with representatives of the RPR community platform.

The meeting was devoted to joint action between the Ministry and representatives of Revitalization Package for Reform (RPR) and looking to further building an effective dialogue between all the stakeholders (educationalists, academics and young people) on the reform of education and science.

Liliya Hrynevych spoke on the priorities of the Ministry of Education and Science for the next 100 days and priorities in education, included in the programme of action by the Government.

The Minister described how among the priorities of the action plan of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in education and science are: the modernization of vocational education and training, the implementation of deregulation and de-bureaucratization, the completion of the international audit of the Horizon 2020 EU programme, and the establishment of the National Council of Ukraine on the Development of Science and Technology.

Liliya Hrynevych stressed the importance of educational content in reforming the sector. "This will not give results tomorrow, but without this is there will not be reform", said the Minister. In terms of this issue, the Ministry needs to conduct a significant awareness campaign among teachers and simultaneously develop the Educational Era online educational project that is working on creating an electronic platform for the exchange of views and experience on upgraded primary schools.

During the meeting, Liliya Hrynevych, Minister of Education and Science, answered questions from both experts and the public about the challenges facing systems of quality assurance in higher education, the fight against corruption in higher education, problems in the reform of teacher training, medical universities, the list of new specializations, and other topics.
