Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Signs Memorandum with Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) to Support Education in Ukraine

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MoES) and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) have signed a memorandum aimed at strengthening support for education in Ukraine and ensuring access to quality education for Ukrainian children during the war.
NRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, providing active support to children and youth affected by the war. Since 2022, the organization has expanded its activities to include education. Its key goals are to promote inclusive education, provide psychosocial support for students and teachers, restore damaged educational institutions, and create temporary learning spaces.
The memorandum between MoES and NRC outlines cooperation in the following areas:
- Implementation of NRC's Better Learning Program, focusing on psychosocial support for students, teachers, and parents;
- Development of legal frameworks aimed at ensuring the educational rights of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and Ukrainian refugees abroad, as well as the recognition of educational documents;
- Involvement of national and international expertise to improve education support efforts, emergency response, and continuity of education during the war;
- Organization of activities to enhance both formal and non-formal education for students.
NRC's expertise and support will help strengthen efforts to restore access to education in Ukraine and implement the "School Offline" policy.
We thank NRC for their continued support of Ukrainian education and their commitment to sustainable future cooperation!
