Serhiy Shkarlet held an online meeting with the Slovenian Minister of Education, Science, and Sport

Today on the 18th of March 2022, Serhiy Shkarlet, the Minister of Education and Science, has held an online meeting with Mrs. Simona Kustec, the Minister of Education, Science and Sport of Slovenia.
Serhiy Shkarlet thanked Madame Minister for the given support to children, students, academic staff, and scientists of Ukraine, who were forced to evacuate abroad due to the brutal agression of the Russian Federation. He also thanked for the support to Ukraine in terms of the decision making of the Council of the European Union.
Madame Minister pointed out that there currently are 1,5 thousand temporarily displaced children and students in Slovenia. The Slovenian government provides them with the comprehensive assistance. Along with that, the law on temporarily displaced people has been adopted aiming to provide full support to all the children, students, and educators.
At the same time, Mrs. Kustec has informed that Slovenian research agency prepared all the necessary documents aiming to involve Ukrainian scientists in the work and to provide the financial support in particular.
Madame Minister has also noted that all relations with the Russian Federation are suspended; and all the agreements in the field of education, science and sports have been terminated.
“We are genuinely grateful to Slovenia and all the Slovenian people for the unwavering support and help for the Ukrainian citizens. We appreciate the manifestation of unity with Ukraine regarding the intolerance of the actions of the aggressor country. I believe that the constructive cooperation between our countries in the field of education and science for the global peace will be continued and expanded.” - Serhiy Shkarlet emphasized.
Reminding that the meeting of the Ministers of the Council of the European Union in support for Ukraine in the field of education and science took place on the 16th of March.
