Educational Support from government of the Republic of Korea : New Textbooks for Ukrainian Schools

10th-grade students in Ukraine will study geography with new textbooks funded by the Government of the Republic of Korea. A total of nearly 300,000 textbooks were printed in Ukrainian and the languages of national communities.
The first batch of textbooks was handed over by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Oksen Lisovyi, together with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine Kim Hyung Tae.
"I am grateful to the Government of the Republic of Korea for its comprehensive support of Ukrainian education. Recently, our partners supported the large-scale reconstruction of vocational education in the Kyiv oblast, and today they have provided additional assistance — new textbooks for 10th grade. Thanks to this support, Ukrainian students will have access to education, despite all the challenges created by the aggressor," said the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Oksen Lisovyi.
Thanks to the support of international partners, Ukrainian students have received over 7.5 million new textbooks. To coordinate efforts in providing essential learning materials, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine initiated the Textbook Coalition in 2023. This initiative brought together key partners, including UNICEF, the European Commission, USAID, the government of the Republic of Korea, JICA, GPE, and Plan International.
We are deeply grateful to the Government of South Korea for their contribution to ensuring high-quality education for Ukrainian students. This support is vital in maintaining access to education despite the challenges of war.
