The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine strengthens the partnership with Switzerland and outlines the following cooperation vectors: results of bilateral meeting

Minister of Education and Scienceof Ukraine, Oksen Lisovyi, and First Deputy Minister, Yevhen Kudriavets, met with the Ambassador of Switzerland to Ukraine and Moldova, Felix Baumann. The key objective was to plan cooperation and areas of support from the Swiss government for the upcoming 2025-2029 years.
Earlier, Switzerland announced plans to provide 1.5 billion Swiss Francs in aid to Ukraine over the next four years. Education has also been included in the partner's general support program.
Currently, Switzerland is actively supporting the education sector in Ukraine through:
- The DECIDE project — cross-sectoral support, ranging from infrastructure solutions to supporting large-scale reforms such as the Upper Secondary Education Reform
- Projects implemented by the Swiss Foundation "Swisscontact" in the field of vocational education, including EdUP.
The partners confirmed their readiness to continue joint initiatives and expand support in the following areas:
- Strengthening the Upper Secondary and vocational education reforms;
- Development of decentralization, inclusiveness, and digitalization;
- Restoration of educational infrastructure and supporting citizens during the post-war reconstruction period.
On its part, the Ministry of Education and Science is creating new mechanisms to enable partners to invest more easily and effectively in Ukraine's education system. Among them is the investment project LEARN, launched this year in collaboration with the World Bank, which serves as a framework model for financing preschool and school education.
We believe in fruitful cooperation and thank Switzerland for its contribution to the development of Ukraine's education system!
