The European Commission together with the European Training Foundation has presented a new version of the multilingual classifier of skills, competencies, qualifications and professions ESCO v.1.1 (European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations) with Ukrainian translation.

The Ukrainian version of ESCO v1.1 contains the ISCO hierarchy, names of professions, basic skills and abilities. An updated version (ESCO v1.1.1) is also expected to be released at the end of June.

Access to the classifier will facilitate the integration of Ukrainians into the European education and labor market. The classifications are aimed at organizations that are ready to use up-to-date data to facilitate the employment of people for:

  • assessing, documentation and hiring of people using the online platforms Europass and Eures;
  • analysis of "big data" on skills and professional trends to provide recommendations to institutions responsible for policy making, trainers and end users (in Ukraine - the European Training Foundation).

To use the Ukrainian version, you need to go to the "Downloads" section of the ESCO portal, whose translation was made with the support of the European Training Foundation as the EU Agency.

In addition, the ESCO team offers technical support and assistance for any other projects related to the integration of Ukrainians into the European labor market (email contact details for assistance: [email protected]). The European Training Foundation has also launched a Europass page that allows Ukrainians to write resumes in the state language.

For reference

ESCO is a classifier of skills, competencies, qualifications and professions, which defines and divides into categories relevant to the labor market indicators.
