Ukrainian schoolchildren won 2 “golds” at the International Ecology Olympiad – all members of the Team are coming back with rewards

Ukrainian team gained two gold medals at the International Student Olympiad in Ecology, which took place in Nairobi, Kenya. Announcing the results and rewarding of winners were held today, on the 15th of 2019.

For the mantle of the best, competed 550 pupils from different countries, presenting more than 200 projects in the competition. The Ukrainian team was represented by 2 participants – both of them reached the “gold”. And the winners are :

  • Danylo Kovalenko, the pupil of the 11th form of Polytechnic Lyceum NTUU "KPI" of Kyiv  and his project “Recycling of used tires by bioacoustics method”
  • Sofiya Zolotopupova, the pupil of the 11th form of M. Kravchuk Gymnasium №21 of Lutsk and her project “Coenotic connections of trematodes and shellfish in water bodies of Volyn region”

Apart from the medal, Danylo Kovalenko was also awarded a Grand Prize of the Olympiad.

The responsibility to prepare students fell on their educators – Oleg Kozlenko and Galyna Yagenska.

It should be reminded that the Ukrainian team won VII European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad in team competitions.
