"School, We Are Together!" – the Ministry of Education and Science launches an initiative to renew the educational process

Published 20 June 2023 at 16:50

2 years of the pandemic, 1.5 years of the full-scale war. For more than 3 years, most Ukrainian schoolchildren have been forced to study remotely. Only a third of them attended school last year. Among teachers, only one in three has a personal laptop to use in the classroom. Among schoolchildren, 3 out of 4 do not have an individual gadget to study with. Almost all primary school students did not have a first-day-of-school celebration and did not see their classmates outside the windows of their zooms and googlemeets.

We want to change this.

We are looking for affiliates in business, non-profit organizations, charities, partner and donors, and opinion leaders to support the initiative. We want to join forces to ensure that children have the opportunity to learn, and teachers – to teach in a safe and comfortable environment. The initiative was created for students and teachers of secondary schools, as well as for students' parents.

Priorities within the initiative:

  • Improving conditions and building new shelters in schools;
  • printing new textbooks as needed;
  • providing students and teachers with gadgets for learning;
  • developing a program to catch up the educational losses;
  • launching the process of de-bureaucratisation in schools.

We have 72 days to do all this. 72 days to unite and do everything possible to help students and teachers return to school.
