Minister of Education and Science takes part in Education World Forum 2022

Today, on May 23, the Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet took part in the opening of the Education World Forum 2022, taking place in London.

On the margins of the event, the Minister has met Nadhim Zahawi, the Secretary of State for Education of the Department of Education of the United Kingdom, has expressed his gratitude for supporting Ukraine, and has discussed pressing issues in education sector.

First, Serhiy Shkarlet thanked for the organization of the examination site for taking the National Multidisciplinary Test in London.

"Ensuring the right to higher education for every Ukrainian who was forced to flee the war is one of our priority tasks" – the Minister emphasized.

The parties also discussed ways to resolve urgent issues in Ukrainian education and science in wartime and during the postwar period.

Serhiy Shkarlet has appealed to Mr. Zahawi to consider the possibility of involving a group of British experts in the work of the National Council for the Recovery of Ukraine within the Education and Science Working Group.

He has also informed that at the initiative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the United24 platform was launched, aiming to engage everyone to contribute to supporting Ukraine, including education, in order Ukrainian children continue learning and teachers can provide quality educational services.

For his part, Mr. Zahawi has expressed his readiness for bilateral cooperation between two countries aiming to restore Ukrainian education and science.
