Euratom programme for nuclear research and training is a complementary programme to the European Union's Horizon 2020 Framework Programme for Research and Innovation uniting all EU programmes for funding research and innovations.
The Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the European Atomic Energy Community on Scientific and Technological Cooperation and Associated Participation of Ukraine in the Euratom Research and Training Program (2014–2018) was signed on 27 June 2016 in Brussels.
The acquisition by Ukraine of associated membership in the Euratom Research and Training Program, in addition to opening the ways to participation of Ukrainian research institutions and organisations, universities, and domestic scholars in advanced projects on nuclear energy, also facilitates the implementation by the state of the European Union's nuclear safety standards.
