The delegation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, led by First Deputy Minister Yevhen Kudriavets, took part in the activities of the Global Education Network Europe (GENE) for the first time.

GENE is a network that brings together more than 50 ministries, agencies, and national institutions from 30 countries to exchange experience and develop common approaches to global education.

Ukraine joined the network for the first time last year as an observer and has since been actively involved in its work. Participation in GENE provides an opportunity to exchange experience with European partners, contribute to the joint development of education policies and approaches, and apply these insights to improve the quality of education in Ukraine.

“For Ukraine’s Ministry of Education and Science, it is important to be part of a community such as the Global Education Network Europe in order to build strong connections with international partners. Such cooperation eventually translates into investments in better learning conditions for Ukrainian students and teachers. GENE also opens up opportunities for Ukraine to learn from the best global education practices and to engage Ukrainian students and educators in international initiatives. Our goal is to strengthen the role of Ukrainian education in the global context and create the conditions for Ukrainians to become active participants and leaders in shaping international education policy,” said Yevhen Kudriavets.

As part of its participation in GENE activities, the Ukrainian delegation engaged in discussions with representatives of other countries on education policy development, experience sharing, and joint solutions. In particular:
— national approaches and Ukraine’s current progress were presented, along with the challenges faced by the education system in wartime conditions;
— participation in peer learning sessions on modern approaches to global education development;
— a series of bilateral meetings were held with partners to expand cooperation.

Participation in GENE is an important step in strengthening international cooperation and further integrating Ukraine into the European Education Area.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine continues to develop partnerships that contribute to improving the quality of education and expanding opportunities for students and teachers.
