Advocating for the needs of Ukrainian education at the Global Education Meeting

Yevhen Kudriavets, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, recently participated in the Global Education Meeting (GEM). This event, held as part of the G20 framework, aims to strengthen global partnerships for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals for Education (SDG4).
Despite the ongoing challenges of war, Ukraine remains committed to advancing education and working towards these global goals. In particular, the country is making strides in introducing innovative digital tools to restore access to education.
At the event, Yevhen Kudriavets was a speaker of the main programme and participated in panel discussions on access to education and leadership in educational governance. He shared Ukraine's experience, highlighting the resilience of the education system and its innovative solutions — such as the “School Offline” policy, along with its digital tools Palantir and DREAM.
"Participation in the Global Education Meeting is an opportunity to remind the international community that Ukrainian education needs support. Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals for Education is impossible if even one country is left behind due to aggression. Countering russia’s aggression must be our collective responsibility," said Yevhen Kudriavets.
Why is Ukraine’s Participation in GEM important?
The Global Education Meeting provides a platform to highlight the urgent needs of Ukrainian education, while also showcasing areas where we have demonstrated expertise and resilience. Sharing successful projects and policies is a key to attracting new investments, building partnerships, and fostering global support.
We are grateful to UNESCO for the opportunity to participate!
