67.3 million uah will be allocated to 10 vocational schools for the creation of inclusive spaces, shelter arrangements, insulation, and installation of solar power plants

Ten vocational schools situated along the frontline from the Sumy to Odesa regions will receive 67.3 million UAH for renovating their educational facilities. Planned changes focus on four key areas: thermal modernization, installation of solar panels, creation of comfortable shelters, and development of inclusive spaces.

"Our goal is to create a comfortable and safe learning process for students in vocational schools in frontline regions. Together with our partners, we are investing in shelters, insulation, solar power stations, and workshop equipment. Currently, this includes only 10 educational institutions that already have experience collaborating with the Swiss public-private partnership project (EdUP), but they should become platforms for spreading this experience," noted Dmytro Zavhorodnii, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformations, and Digitalization.

The directions for these improvements were selected based on the needs of institutions currently suffering from constant air raids, power outages, uncomfortable temperature conditions in classrooms and dormitories, and resulting interruptions in education.

It is planned that the project will provide more than 5,000 students, teachers, and vocational school staff with access to comfortable workshops, dormitories, and shelters.

"The main goal of this initiative is to restore 10 vocational education institutions under the slogan 'Build Back Better.' The project aims to create safe learning conditions and renew the interest of students, school graduates, and the adult population," emphasized Poshan KS, Director of Swisscontact in Ukraine and Advisor on Reconstruction for the EdUP project.

Public Private Partnership to Improved Professional Education in Ukraine (EdUP) is a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC in partnership with Geberit Trading LLC, Sika Ukraine LLC implemented by Swisscontact with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
